Moon Rabbit

Finished this piece called "Sorrow" as part of the Phases de la lune series. It is based on the Moon Rabbit in folklore, a story that exists in many different cultures. I've many drawn on the Chinese folklore, and Chang'e as moon goddess for this depiction. On top of her head are Ipomoea alba, otherwise known as Moonflowers and are so called because they bloom in the evening.

Here are some photos showing the process.

Here's the final piece! Now available as a print on Society6.

On it's way

Slow progress this week, but hope to get more done over the weekend. Here's a preview of where I'm at.

For a change

Was needing a little bit of a change of pace from my "Phases de la lune" series. So went back to my still life teacups for a bit of fun and a bit of a twist:)

Will probably be putting prints of these in my etsy shop in the next month. Still need to do one more!

Here is the progress of 'Prim and Proper', and the start of 'Le caniche rose'!

Have already started on a new piece though for the moon series, which I'll be posting here in the next few days time.
